WTTR

WTTR (FM 102.3 and AM 1470) is a Full Service & classic hits formatted broadcast radio station licensed to Westminster, Maryland, serving Westminster and Carroll County, Maryland. WTTR is owned and operated by Hilltop Communications, LLC.

WTTR plays 'The Greatest Hits of All Time'. WTTR features classic hits Bruce Main (morning drive) and Dave Issing (afternoon drive) (99.1 WHFS, 103.1 WRNR, WNAV, and WJFK). WTTR currently airs CBS News at the top of each hour, as well as local traffic and weather.

In 2019, WTTR began carrying "Inspire" - a weekly hour show focusing on music of hope, positiveness, and inspiration. The show is hosted by Dave Issing and features a unique playlist, and from time-to-time, live performances and in-studio guests. Due to the popularity of the show, in 2020, Inspire now airs twice a week, and "Inspire" blocks are featured weekdays during the hours of 4-7pm. Shows are available on-demand as well.

In addition to music, WTTR airs Baltimore Ravens and Baltimore Orioles, as well as local sports of Carroll County high school basketball and football, featuring popular play-by-play voice Charlie Beckhardt and the 'Athlete of the Week' program.

WTTR is a broadcast affiliated for the classic "Casey Kasem's Top 40 Countdown" which airs on Sundays.

WTTR has offers local church services and specialty programming in the community interest.

History WTTR was placed on the air in 1953 by local businessman Russ Morgan, the first song broadcast was the Star Spangled Banner on the 4th of July. In the 1960s. Carroll County Broadcasting Company retained ownership of WTTR AM and FM until the station was sold to Shamrock Broadcasting in the early 1980s. Dwight Dingle managed WTTR from 1974 until his death in November, 2009.

Shortly after taking ownership, Shamrock moved the FM to Baltimore and after trying a number of formats from Country to Heavy Metal, eventually settled on its present Classic Rock format under the call letters WZBA. Shamrock sold WTTR to Sajak Broadcasting Corporation in 2005. In late September, 2013, Sajak Broadcasting announced an agreement to sell WTTR to the newly formed Hilltop Communications, LLC. Hilltop assumed ownership on 12/19/2013.

On January 1, 2014 WTTR shifted their format from oldies to classic hits of the 60's, 70's, and 80's and continue to expand and diversify it's music.

On July 18, 2016, WTTR went live with their 102.3 FM frequency.
