Algeria have appeared in the finals of the Africa Cup of Nations on eighteen occasions. The first participation was in 1968 in Ethiopia.[1] Algeria won the cup twice, first when they hosted the tournament in 1990[2] before managing to win it again in the 2019 edition in Egypt.[3][4] They finished second in 1980 in Nigeria[5] and third in 1984 in Ivory Coast and in 1988 in Morocco.
