Hardcore Devo: Volume Two
Hardcore Devo: Volume Two is the last of two collections of demos by the American new wave band Devo. It was originally released in August 1991, on the label Rykodisc. It was out of print for over twenty years; however, it was re-issued on Superior Viaduct[2] in 2013 both as a vinyl release (May 2013) and a CD containing both volumes and bonus tracks (July 2013).

Overview
The Hardcore Devo albums are collections of 4-track basement demos recorded by the band between 1974–1977. Some tracks are earlier versions of some of Devo's best known tracks that would later be re-recorded and used on subsequent Devo records (e.g. "Jocko Homo," "Mongoloid"), but a majority of the tracks were never re-used and remained unreleased until the Hardcore Devo compilations.
Volume Two has been described as even more "hardcore" than Hardcore Devo: Volume One, as it contains more "experimental" tracks. However, it is not without its share of "classic Devo," with the band's trademark sound already beginning to show.
The album featured recordings by the previously unheard 'Bob Lewis' lineup of the group, active for much of early 1974, this lineup consisted of founding members Gerald Casale & Bob Lewis, as well as Bob Casale, Mark, Jim & Bob Mothersbaugh. This lineup is featured on the track 'All Of Us'. 'The Rope Song' would feature a similar lineup, minus Bob Casale, who had departed from the group. 'Be Stiff' would be recorded following Bob Lewis' change from member to manager.
This quartet lineup of the group would last from Mid-1974 to early 1976 when Jim Mothersbaugh would cease drumming for the group. During much of 1976, Gerald Casale took up drum duties, as featured on the track 'Bottled Up', until returning to bass once Alan Myers became the drummer in late 1976. At this same time, Bob Casale rejoined the band as the second guitarist.
The opening track, Booji Boy's Funeral, was played as a backing tape for the encore of the Freedom Of Choice tour in 1980.
