Hurricane (Serbian band)

Hurricane, also known as Hurricane Girls, are a pop-R&B Serbian girl band formed by Zoran Milinković[1] in November 2017, consisting of three members: Sanja Vučić, Ivana Nikolić and Ksenija Knežević.[2]

They sing mostly in English; although they have also sung on occasions songs in their native language Serbian. Hurricane aims to be recognized globally; they have two planned songs for Universal (as of November 2019),[3][4][5] and in September 2018 collaborated with Hollywood producer Stephen Belafonte.[6]

Following their participation in the 2020 edition of Beovizija (second semi-final night, 29 February; final night, 1 March), they were to represent Serbia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2020, with the song "Hasta La Vista".[7] However, on 18 March 2020, the event was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. On 23 November 2020 it was confirmed that Hurricane is selected to represent Serbia in the 2021 contest with a new song.

  • Sanja Vučić (born 10 August 1993) – main vocalist (2017–present)
Vučić comes from a family of musicians, and was in an alt rock band while in primary school. She played in folk and jazz bands, and sang in a church choir. She has been a member of band ZAA for five years; she represented Serbia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2016.[2]
  • Ivana Nikolić (born 16 April 1995) – lead vocalist (2017–present)
Nikolić is known to modern dance and music world. Her first appearance was in Belgrade arena with Yugoslav stars from 90's. She collaborated with Jala Brat on his single "Mlada i luda".[2]
Knežević's father is the popular Montenegrin singer Knez. When she was younger she participated in festivals for child performers, and took part as part of the trio Sky's in the 2013 Beosong (Beovizija edition) with the song "Magija". She used to be in Sevdah Baby crew before joining Hurricane.[2]
