Ibrahim Sutar

Ibrahim Sutar is a social worker from Karnataka, India; and recipient of India's fourth highest civilian award, the Padma Shri.[3][4][2] He is nicknamed the "Kabir of Kannada".[2]

Early life

He was born in the year 1940 at Mahalingpur in Bagalkot district in a family of limited means. He studied till class 3. In the year 1970, he set up Harmony Folk Music Mela (team of artists) and started performing devotional singing, spiritual discourses across Karnataka and neighboring states.[1]

He was invited as a guest for Zee Kannada show Drama Juniors.[5]
