The municipality covers an area of 9.32 square kilometres (3.60 sq mi), and has a population of 177 (as at 3 July 2006).
Kocelovice lies approximately 24 kilometres (15 mi) north of Strakonice, 73 km (45 mi) north-west of České Budějovice, and 81 km (50 mi) south-west of Prague.
