Leptobos

Leptobos was a genus of large Pleistocene bovid found in Europe and Asia. It reached a weight up to 320 kg.[1] It is often considered closely related to Bison and the insular Epileptobos. It is known from the Early Pleistocene of Europe (Villafranchian) and the Eastern Mediterranean, India (Siwaliks) and China. Leptobos syrticus from Libya likely represents another bovine taxon.[2]
