List of Blackpink concert tours

South Korean girl group Blackpink have embarked on two headlining concert tours. In July 2017, the group held their debut showcase in Japan.[1] This was followed by their first Japanese concert tour, Blackpink Arena Tour, where they visited Osaka, Fukuoka and Chiba. In 2018, Blackpink embarked on their first world tour, In Your Area World Tour, in support of their album Square Up, which marked the first time for the group to tour Asia, North America, Europe, and Australia.

Background

The 2018 tour of Japan was to promote their first Japanese extended play. Six shows were initially released with an extra being added in Chiba due to overwhelming demand,[2] the tour officially began on July 24 in Osaka.[3] On July 7, the final stop of the tour was added for December 24 at Kyocera Dome Osaka.[4] They embarked on their first concert tour of Japan titled "Black Pink Arena Tour 2018" in Osaka on July 24–25.

Background

In order to promote themselves in Japan, Blackpink held their debut showcase at Nippon Budokan in front of 14,000 fans. The set list consisted of the group's previous releases being performed in Japanese as well as an encore of the Korean version of Boombayah. The showcase was later broadcast on Japanese TV channel M-on! HD as well as the videos being included in the repackaged version of the group's debut EP Re: Blackpink which was released in early 2018.

Background

On December 3, 2020, YG Entertainment announced that Blackpink will hold its first online virtual pay-per-view concert named "The Show" on December 27, 2020. Under a partnership between YG Entertainment and YouTube Music, it will be the first concert under the newest online concert series of YG Entertainment named "YG Palm Stage".[11] Promotional teaser for the concert was first released on November 23, 2020.[12] It will be available exclusively on Blackpink's YouTube channel and will include first-time performances of songs from The Album, as well as songs from the upcoming solo debut of member Rosé, as announced on January 25, 2021.[13][14][15]

On December 17, 2020, due to COVID-19 pandemic regulations in South Korea at that time, YG Entertainment announced the postponement of the concert to January 31, 2021.[16]

YG Entertainment noted that "The title of the concert, ‘THE SHOW’, is direct and leaves a strong impression. BLACKPINK has previously named their official debut album as ‘THE ALBUM’, compiling their unrivaled musical capabilities gathered since their debut back in 2016. The people are paying keen attention to what kind of fantastic performances the group will present through ‘THE SHOW’".[17]
