Officially, there are seven World Heritage Sites in Ukraine which is about .62% of all World Heritage Sites accounted for 1121 in 2020.

Ukraine has officially adopted the UNESCO Convention and become an independent member on 12 October 1988, while still officially being a union republic of the Soviet Union. The first Ukrainian landmark entered the list of World Heritage Sites already in 1990 at the 14th session of the World Heritage Sites Committee. Until dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991, all Ukrainian entries were submitted to the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in foreign language.

World Heritage Sites

UNESCO lists sites under ten criteria; each entry must meet at least one of the criteria. Criteria i through vi are cultural, whereas vii through x are natural.[1]
