List of butterflies of Nepal

The following is a list of butterflies of Nepal. Six hundred and seventy-six species and thirty subspecies are listed.

Papilio krishna has been proposed as the national butterfly of Nepal.

This list is primarily based on Colin Smith's 2006 Illustrated Checklist of Nepal's Butterflies,[1] with some recent additions and a modernized classification. Scientific and common names are also from that book (though corrections have been made when clear). The 27 endemic species or subspecies are marked.
