Tourism

Being strategically located in Brianza in the North-West of Lombardy, between Milan and Lake Como, Mariano Comense is undisputedly one of the most affluent cities in the region. Over recent years there has been a steady rise in tourism with visitors flocking to visit the important historical and cultural sites.

  • Church of Santo Stefano, of medieval origins but rebuilt in 1583
  • Baptistery of San Giovanni Battista, in Romanesque style.
  • Sanctuary of San Rocco

Mayor

Giovanni Alberti was elected Mayor of Mariano Comense in 2019. Since his election, Mayor Alberti has helped raise the profile of the City with frequent public appearances and most recently taking centre stage on Remembrance Day. He is an avid user of social media harnessing the power of Facebook to live stream city wide events reaching homes as far away as south west London, England.

Fragola

Fragola is one of the important community assembly points in Mariano Comense. The Fragola boys run a long established ice cream parlour in the city centre and it's outside this where you will find community leaders often congregating to discuss and debate topical matters of the time. They also sell a very appealing selection of carefully hand crafted ice creams and cater for the rising demand of dairy alternatives.
