Mazahir Uloom

Jamia Mazahir Uloom Saharanpur (Urdu: جامعہ مظاہر علوم، سہارنپور) is an Islamic seminary located in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh. It is known to be the second largest Islamic seminary in India after Darul Uloom Deoband.

History

Mazahir Uloom was established six months after the foundation of Darul Uloom Deoband by Ahmad Ali Saharanpuri, Mazhar Ali Nanotawi and Sa’adat Ali Faqih on 9 November 1866.[1]

It was initially patronized by Rashid Ahmad Gangohi and it touched the peak of fame and name during the time of Khalil Ahmad Saharanpuri.[1]

The position of Ameen-e-Aam (General Secretary) was setup in 1988 in the madrasa and Muhammad Talha Kandhlawi became its first General Secretary and remained on this position until 1993.[2]

Muhammad Zakariya Kandhlawi [3] and Muhammad Yunus Jaunpuri have been the known Hadith Professors of Mazahir.
