Palmerston North Hospital Area is located in the north of the city and had a usually resident population of 2,739 (2001)[1]
Palmerston North Hospital Area has a diverse setting. On the southern side of Tremaine Avenue the suburb is predominantly residential, with tree lined residential streets and avenues. On the north side of Tremaine Avenue, it is mainly commercial and industrial, with hardware, car sales yards and pet shops etc.
Three schools are within the area: Russell Street School, Palmerston North Boys' High School and Queen Elizabeth College
The skyline of the eastern end of the suburb is dominated by Palmerston North Hospital, for which it is named. Palmerston North Hospital also offers a wide range of views of the city and surrounding area.
Palmerston North Hospital can be accessed from Heretaunga Street or Ruahine Street.
Nearby is the Arohanui Hospice.
The Northern Bowling Club is present down North Street.
Rimu Lodge Rest Home and Willard Rest Home for the elderly are present here also.
