Diplomatic relations
Spain does not have an embassy resident in Seychelles. Diplomatic relations are channeled through the Embassy in Addis Ababa (Ethiopia). In the case of Seychelles, its Embassy in Paris is accredited to Spain.[4]
Bilateral relations are considered excellent, and there has been a gradual narrowing of them in recent years based on the fishing activities of Spanish vessels in the area and in the common interest in the fight against piracy. At present, about thirty vessels of national interest (ships with Spanish flag or Seychelles flag with Spanish ship owner) use Victoria Harbor as a base for their operations.[4]
Likewise, Spain and Seychelles have recently been collaborating in the field of renewable energy and water and energy management, as evidenced by the visit made to the Island of El Hierro by a delegation from Seychelles headed by the President of the Seychelles Public Services Corporation in December 2014.[4]
