Upukol Express

Upukol Express (train no. 711/712) is an intercity train of Bangladesh which runs between Kamalapur railway station of Dhaka and Noakhali railway station of Noakhali.[1] It made its first inaugural run on January 17, 1986.

Rolling Stock

Upukol Express is usually hauled by a Class 2900 locomotive. Sometimes, Class 2600 or Class 2700 locomotives are also used. The train uses old yellow-green vacuum-braked coaches.

Passenger interest

Being the only intercity train of Noakhali, Upukol Express is very popular among the people of that district. However, this train is criticized for poor quality of service and not maintaining schedule properly.[2]
