Season summary

Hamburg were rooted to the bottom of the table for the first half of the season, but the appointment of Huub Stevens revitalised the team and they rose to a final 7th-placed finish.

  1. Trochowski was born in Tczew, Poland, but was raised in Germany from the age of 5 and represented Germany at U-18, U-20, and U-21 level before making his international debut for Germany in October 2006.
  2. Demel was born in Orsay, France, but acquired an Ivory Coast passport in 2004 and made his international debut for the Ivory Coast in 2004.
