2011 Hartford mayoral election

The 2011 Hartford mayoral election was held on November 8, 2011. The election was saw incumbent Democrat Pedro Segarra win election to a first full term. He became the first openly-gay individual elected Mayor of Hartford, and making Hartford the second U.S. state capital to elect an openly gay mayor (Providence, Rhode Island was the first when they elected David Cicilline).
