- 15 April – Former Veracruz governor Javier Duarte, (PRI, 2010-2016) is arrested in Panajachel, Sololá Department, Guatemala.[15]
- 21 May – A 42-year-old Russian Nazi kills a 19-yer-old man in Cancun after a mob tries to lynch the Russian. He had earlier posted anti-Mexican racist comments on YouTube, but authorities refused to deport him.[16]
