Controversies
Indian authorities including IOA and Ministry of External Affairs, have denied approving any participation from India. International Kabaddi Federation (IKF) president Janardhan Singh Gehlot said, “This is an invalid tournament where players who are not recognized by the world body are participating.”[5]
The Pakistan federation also demanded an investigation into why the unauthorised players from India were being treated as an official Indian team. PACKF secretary general Muhammad Sarwar Bhatt told TOI on phone that Indian passport holders have been included in the teams of England, Canada and Australia as kabaddi players. He said only a few players from these countries had arrived in Pakistan and their teams had been completed by including kabaddi players from India.[1]
