Cedar Creek Township, Lake County, Indiana

Cedar Creek Township is one of eleven townships in Lake County, Indiana. As of the 2010 census, its population was 12,097 and it contained 4,675 housing units.[3]

History

Cedar Creek Township was established in 1839.[4]

The Buckley Homestead was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.[5]

Geography

According to the 2010 census, the township has a total area of 60.57 square miles (156.9 km2), of which 60.01 square miles (155.4 km2) (or 99.08%) is land and 0.56 square miles (1.5 km2) (or 0.92%) is water.[3] The township includes most of the town of Lowell, as well the Census-designated Place Lake Dalecarlia.

Education

Cedar Creek Township, along with West Creek Township and Eagle Creek Township, is served by the Tri-Creek School Corporation which includes Lowell High School.
