Relations between Israel and Fiji have generally been friendly, with Fiji backing Israel in international forums. In 2016, Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu has met with Fijian prime minister Frank Bainimarama and thanked him for Fiji's support for Israel. Bainimarama also thanked Netanyahu for the aid Israel has delivered Fiji, including humanitarian aid and the reconstruction of infrastructure in the island of Ovalau.[3][4]

In July 2017, an Israeli delegation of doctors and nurses arrived in Fiji, delivering humanitarian aid. The two countries also agreed to cooperate in the field of agriculture.[5]
