Hopkins House (Marion, Louisiana)
The Hopkins House in Marion, Louisiana was built by Rev. Elias George, a Baptist Minister and Cotton Planter. Construction of the home began in 1850, and was completed in the Spring of 1852. Reverend George and his family occupied the home from 1852 through the Civil War, when it was sold to Lewis M. Powell in 1866. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.[1]
