Saurania

Saurania (Ancient Greek: Σαυρανία), or Sauronisena,[1] or Saunaria (Σαυναρία),[2] was a town of ancient Pontus, inhabited during Roman and Byzantine times.[3] It was in the later province of Pontus Polemoniacus, and mentioned by Ptolemy.[2]

Its site is tentatively located near Gölköy in Asiatic Turkey.[3][4]
