Zee Tamil
Zee Tamil is an Indian Tamil language general entertainment pay television channel owned by Zee Entertainment Enterprises.[2] The channel started broadcasting on 2008 and is available internationally.[3] The channel broadcasts from Guindy, Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Now this is one of the Most TRP rated Channels of India surpassing major Hindi GECs.[4]

Zee Entertainment Enterprises also launched a full Tamil movie channel named Zee Thirai in 2020.[5]
History
Zee Tamil was launched on 12 October 2008, being the third south Indian channel after Zee Telugu and Zee Kannada, launched under Zee entertainments.[6]
In Canada, the channel is distributed by Ethnic Channels Group.[7]
Zee Tamil went on a revamp with an update in its on-air graphics on 15 October 2017, along with the launch of a high-definition feed with Tamil film actress Jyothika as the brand ambassador.[8] The rebranding coincided with the Zee Network’s silver jubilee celebrations where all the network channels donned a new look.[9]
On 19 September 2018, Astro Added "Samrat" Pack Customers, Zee Tamil HD (Channel 232) and purchase until October 2018.[10]
On 19 January 2020, its siblings channel Zee Thirai was launched, which airs non-stop Kollywood films.[11] This Movie Channel was released by actor Kamal Haasan at the grand stage of Zee Cine Awards Tamil (2020).[12]

Programming
Zee Tamil entertains the audience with complete package of shows, serials, spiritual shows, cookery, talk shows, musical shows, movies and events. It telecasting high budget, fantasy, and romance serials, among those Sembaruthi recorded the top position in TRP serial ratings at 1st place in Tamil Nadu serial ratings (urban+rural). While Yaaradi Nee Mohini and Oru Orula Oru Rajakumari at Top 10 positions. Zee Tamil also telecasting reality and fun shows like Dance Jodi Dance, Genes, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Seniors and Tamizha Tamizha.

During the revamp of the channel in 2017 with a new logo, the share which was about 5% for the channel before rose between 13-15% in the year becoming the third most watched Tamil television channel.[13][14]
