1984 Washington gubernatorial election

The State of Washington holds its gubernatorial election every fourth year, concurrent with the United States presidential election. This election took place on November 6, 1984; and resulted in the defeat of Governor John Spellman, despite his party's presidential candidate's landslide re-election. As of 2021, this is the most recent Washington gubernatorial election in which both candidates are now deceased.
