Atchanan (Armenian: Աճանան) is a village in the Kapan Municipality of the Syunik Province in Armenia.

Toponymy

The village was previously known as Khalaj (Armenian: Խալաջ). The village is located about 100 km south-east from the Khalaj archaeological site in Azerbaijan.

Population

The National Statistical Service of the Republic of Armenia (ARMSTAT) reported its population as 154 in 2010,[3] down from 161 at the 2001 census.[4]
