Evroviziya 2011

Evroviziya 2011 was the national final format developed by BNT in order to select Bulgaria's entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2011. The competition took place on 23 February 2011 at the National Palace of Culture in Sofia, hosted by Maria Ilieva and Orlin Pavlov and broadcast on BNT 1 and BNT World as well as online via the broadcaster's website bnt.bg and at the Eurovision Song Contest official website eurovision.tv.[4]

Competing entries

A jury committee made up of 55 composers, poets, producers, performers, music educators and members of the media, advertising agencies and professional organizations, titled Academy, received questionnaires in which each member presented proposals with an official letter three performers they would like to see represent Bulgaria in Düsseldorf.[5][6] BNT also opened a song submission period for songwriters to submit their songs from 25 January 2011 to 9 February 2011. Songs were required to be Bulgarian national product.[7] Up to three songs were then submitted to BNT by the top ten nominated performers and the list of competing artists and songs were announced on 14 February 2011.[8] "Boogie Man" performed by Sunrise feat. All Access Project, "Wolf's Song" performed by Svetozar Hristov, "Believe" performed by Vessy and "Like a Fairytale" performed by Zhan Shejtanov were later withdrawn from the competition.
