Kdam Eurovision 2011
The Israeli entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 was selected through Kdam Eurovision 2011, the national final format organised by IBA.[1] The show took place on 8 March 2011 at the Culture Hall in Rishon LeZion, hosted by Shiri Maimon and Aki Avni and broadcast on Channel 1 as well as online via iba.org.il/eurovil.[2]
Competing entries
IBA opened a public submission period for artists and composers on 28 December 2010. In addition to the public submissions, IBA directly invited artists to submit songs for the competition.[3][4] Those matching the conditions were required to submit two to three songs, which were subsequently evaluated by a committee that selected ten artists and songs.[5] The competing acts and the song titles were announced on 8 February 2011, while the competing songs were presented during a press conference on 28 February 2011, held at the Shablul Jazz club in Tel Aviv and hosted by Shiri Maimon and Aki Avni.[6][7]
