Head of the Luhansk People's Republic

Head of the Luhansk People's Republic is the highest elected official of Luhansk People's Republic, a unrecognized country located on the territory of Luhansk Oblast (province) in eastern Ukraine. According to the Constitution, Head of the Republic is the head of state and has executive power.

Elections of the Head of the Luhansk People’s Republic

Elections of the Head of the Luhansk People's Republic are carried out on the basis of universal, equal and direct suffrage by secret ballot for a period of five years. The head of the Luhansk People’s Republic is a citizen of the LPR who does not have foreign citizenship, is not younger than 30 years old, has the right to vote. The same person cannot be the Head of the Luhansk People’s Republic for more than two consecutive terms.[1]

The head of the Luhansk People’s Republic cannot be a member of public associations, cannot be a deputy of the Parliament of the Luhansk People’s Republic, and cannot occupy any other positions in state and public structures, business entities.
