List of ABC radio stations

The Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) operates four national networks, 53 local radio stations, the international service ABC Radio Australia and several digital stations (DiG Radio since 2002).

National radio networks

  • ABC Radio National – news and current affairs, arts, music, society, science, drama and comedy
  • Triple J – youth-targeted music, news and entertainment (since 1975)
  • ABC Classicclassical music, the ABC's first entirely FM radio network (since 1976)
  • ABC News – parliamentary broadcasts and rolling news (since 1994)

Digital stations

  • Triple J Unearthed – digital-only music station for independent unsigned Australian artists.
  • Double J – digital-only station aimed at over-30s.
  • ABC Classic 2 – Features 100% Australian performances of classical music, streaming-only, un-presented
  • ABC Jazz – A digital station featuring jazz
  • ABC Country – A digital station featuring country, un-presented
  • ABC KIDS Listen – New digital-only station for kids
  • ABC Grandstand – Sports events

Local Radio

There are 53 ABC Local Radio stations, including 45 regional stations and 8 capital city stations.[1]

  1. The ABC's Annual Report 2018, Volume I mentions Capital City Local Radio from all 8 capital cities and Regional Local Radio from 48 regional locations. According to Volume II there are 45 regional stations, of which ABC Northern Tasmania and ABC Kimberley each have 2 locations, plus a reporter in Nowra (thus 48 locations). According to this map from April 2019 there are also news bureaus in Ipswich, Parramatta and Geelong (thus 59 locations altogether).
