WWE Clash of Champions

WWE Clash of Champions is a professional wrestling event produced by WWE, a Connecticut-based professional wrestling promotion, and broadcast live and available only through pay-per-view (PPV) and the WWE Network. The event was established in 2016 for the Raw brand following the reintroduction of the brand extension, where the promotion again split its roster into separate brands where the talent exclusively perform. The event replaced Night of Champions in the late September slot of WWE's pay-per-view calendar. However, the 2017 edition of the event was held on the December slot and was a SmackDown-branded event. All WWE pay-per-views ceased being brand exclusive in 2018 following WrestleMania 34, and although Clash of Champions had been announced for that year, it was later cancelled and replaced by the all-female event Evolution. In 2019, Clash of Champions was re-instated for that year's September slot.

Event gimmickAll active WWE championships are defended for the brands featured at the event

Similar to Night of Champions, the concept of Clash of Champions is that every WWE title for the brands featured are defended; when the event was brand exclusive in 2016 and 2017, only the titles exclusive to those brands at the time were defended. The 2019 event featured Raw, SmackDown, and 205 Live, while the 2020 event featured only Raw and SmackDown, as 205 Live was merged under the NXT brand in late 2019 when NXT became one of WWE's three main brands; although now considered one of WWE's three main brands, NXT runs its own set of events separate from WWE's main pay-per-views.
