2010 Tennessee gubernatorial election
The 2010 Tennessee gubernatorial election took place on November 2, 2010. Incumbent Democratic Governor Phil Bredesen was term-limited and unable to seek re-election to a third term in office. Knoxville mayor Bill Haslam, the Republican nominee, defeated Democratic nominee Mike McWherter.

News organizations The Cook Political Report,[1] CQ Politics,[2] and The New York Times[3] rated the gubernatorial election as leaning Republican, while The Rothenberg Political Report rated it as "Republican favored,"[4] RealClearPolitics[5] and Sabato's Crystal Ball[6] as "Likely Republican", and Rasmussen Reports as "Solid Republican."[7]
Primary election
The primary election was held on August 5, 2010.[8] A recorded debate Featuring 3 of the candidates, organized by campaign coordinator James Crenshaw, was held at the Scarett-Benett Center in Nashville, TN.[9]
