Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Eurovision Song Contest 2012

Bosnia and Herzegovina participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 in Baku, Azerbaijan. The Bosnian entry was selected through an internal selection, organised by the Bosnian broadcaster BHRT. Maya Sar represented Bosnia and Herzegovina with the song "Korake ti znam", which qualified from the second semi-final and went on to place 18th in the final, scoring 55 points.[1][2]

Before Eurovision

Internal selection

On 15 December 2011, the broadcaster announced that they had internally selected Maya Sar to represent Bosnia and Herzegovina in Baku.[3] The song to be performed at the contest, "Korake ti znam", was also selected internally and was presented during a television special entitled BH Eurosong 2012 on 15 March 2012. The show was broadcast on BHT 1 as well as streamed online via the broadcaster's website bhrt.ba and the official Eurovision Song Contest website eurovision.tv.[4][5]

At Eurovision

Bosnia and Herzegovina competed in the second half of the second semi-final (17th on stage), on 24 May 2012, following Norway and preceding Lithuania. Maya Sar received 77 points and placed 6th, thus qualifying for the final on 26 May.[6]

In the final, Bosnia and Herzegovina was drawn to perform 5th, after Lithuania and preceding Russia. The Bosnian entry scored a total of 55 points and placed 18th in the final.[1]

  • In the semi-final Bosnia and Herzegovina came 6th with 77 points: the public awarded Bosnia and Herzegovina 7th place with 70 points and the jury awarded 6th place with 77 points.[7]
  • In the final Bosnia and Herzegovina came 18th with 55 points: the public awarded Bosnia and Herzegovina 16th place with 57 points and the jury awarded 15th place with 71 points.[7]
