Selection
The French broadcaster, Antenne 2, held an internal selection to select the French representative for the Eurovision Song Contest 1992, held in Malmö, Sweden. They selected Kali to sing for France at the contest with the song "Monté la riviè" (Go up the river), composed by Kali and sung in French and Haitian Creole, a creole language spoken on the island of Haiti. This was the first time that the French entry was not entirely in French.
At Eurovision
Kali performed 6th on the night of the contest, following Greece and preceding Sweden. "Monté la riviè" received 83 points, placing 8th of 23 countries competing.
