After nearly two years of construction, the new plant was opened in the summer of 1976. Isuzu Gemini was the entry-level models. In the commercial vehicle sector, it ranked the brand new model of Isuzu Elf and the Isuzu Forward, here ever since sold as the Isuzu Borneo. The first SUV was manufactured in 1980, Isuzu P'up, a sister model of the Japanese Isuzu Faster. The model soon became very popular and was especially successful as an export.
The Isuzu Trooper, which since 1988 in Indonesia has been built. On the local market, the Isuzu Panther was a serious competitor for the Toyota Kijang. As an export model for the People's Republic of China, it had the name Isuzu Leopard. On the Thai market, the Isuzu Cameo and Isuzu Spark were built. These rolled off the assembly line in Indonesia. The second generation Spark was based on the Isuzu Rodeo, sold under the name Isuzu Rodeo 4WD model. They also marketed the Isuzu TF. In the commercial vehicle sector in 1997, then the Isuzu C Series was included. This is the only heavy-duty truck model of Isuzu's in the Indonesian market.
In 1999 started the engine Pantja, and their cooperation with the vehicle tuner Otomotif Berita Indonesia, where the production of body parts and assemblies for the then called Berita-Isuzu Elf took over. From 2002 Isuzu then delivered chassis, engine, transmission and the interior of the Panthers to the company. As they arrived at the factory, the kits were built with body parts of the Hummer H2 provided. Technically, there is thus no match for the American version of the model of AM General. However, the 2007 model had the Isuzu Bison soft, which is available both as a flatbed as well as minibus. The Bison is currently the most successful model Isuzu's in Indonesia.
