Military ranks of Bangladesh

The Military ranks of Bangladesh are the military insignia used by the Bangladesh Armed Forces.

Commissioned officers

Since the independence of Bangladesh, Bangladesh army had followed the rank insignia pattern of British Commonwealth or British Army officer rank insignia. After the war of liberation 1971, all Bangladeshi army officers started to wear lotus instead of crescent-star of Pakistan Army. In the year 2013, the rank badges of generals were changed from the British Commonwealth or British Army officer rank insignia style to current style (the rank of badge of Maj. Gen. was made like Lt. Gen., Lt. Gen. was made like a full general and full general's insignia was made with an extra pip).
