Sayed Muhammad Madni Ashraf Ashrafi Al-Jilani[4] (Urdu: سید محمد مدنی اشرف الجيلاني, Hindi: सैयद मोहम्मद मदनी अशरफ़ी अल जिलानी) often referred to as Shaykh al-Islām,[5][6] Mujaddid E Azam and Madni Miyan.[7][8][9] (born on 27 August 1938 CE; 1 Rajab 1357 AH) is an Islamic scholar,[10] Muslim jurist, theologian, ascetic, hadith traditionist, spiritual leader, prominent speaker[11] and author from Ashrafpur Kichhauchha, Uttar Pradesh, India.[12][10]

He is the founder of Shaikhul Islam Trust.[13][14][15][16][17][18][19] Syed Madni Miya is a patron of various social, academic and other developmental activities of Sufi Sunni Muslims in India. He is an elder brother of Hashmi Miya.[20]
