• Debattama Saha as Anokhi Bhalla: Rama and Ramesh's daughter; Babli and Raja's younger sister. Aastha's student. Anokhi is an undergraduate, all-rounder and headstrong student, who aspires to be very successful one day. • Karanvir Sharma as Shaurya Sabherwal: Aastha and Shaan's son; Devi and Tej's nephew turned foster son. Professor at Sabherwal Institute of Arts and Commerce. Shaurya is prejudiced against women and feels that they are good only for the life of domesticity. Shaurya has such irritable nature towards women because he believes mother abandoned him to pursue her career. (2020–present)

• Alka Kaushal as Devi Sabherwal: Tej's wife; Shaurya's elder aunt. She was the only who raised Shaurya after his mother left him and has a mysterious motive as she always makes Shaurya and Shaan realise that she has no child of her own as she treats Shaurya as her own son. She instilled in Shaurya deep hatred for his mother Aastha who left him to pursue her dreams. (2020–present)
• Sooraj Thapar as Tej Sabherwal: Devi's husband; Shaurya's elder uncle. He is the patriarch of Sabherwal household and also the Chairman of Sabherwal Institute of Arts and Commerce (SIAC). He treats Shaurya as his own son. He always taunts Shaan for being a drunkard and an irresponsible father. (2020–present)
• Khalid Siddiqui as Shaan Sabherwal: Shaurya's father; Aastha's estranged husband; Tej’s younger brother. He deeply loves Aastha and became depressed when the latter left him. After getting separated from his wife, he could neither concentrate on his child nor on his work. As a result, he is frequently insulted by Shaurya. (2020–present)
• Deepa Parab as Aastha Sabherwal: Shaan's estranged wife; Shaurya's mother. She deeply loves Shaan and Shaurya. She wanted to provide financial help to her aged parents when her brother passed away. Tej and Devi opposed her decision which forced her to leave her husband and son. She treats Anokhi as her own daughter and helps her pursue her dreams. (2020–present)
• Pankaj Kalra as Ramesh Bhalla: Babli, Raja and Anokhi's father; Rama's husband. He is an orthodox person who considers daughters as nothing but a burden. He always discouraged Anokhi from participating in competitions and pursuing her ambitions. He fixed her marriage with a drunkard, and refused to cancel the alliance when Anokhi informed him about the misdeeds of her prospective husband. (2020–present)

Before its premiere, it was titled as Shaurya – Ek Anokhi Kahani and the first promo of the series was released, but soon was changed to Shaurya Aur Anokhi Ki Kahani.[4]

On 20 December 2020, fire broke out on the sets of the series and the shoot was disrupted for a while.[5]

Based on the backdrop of Punjab, the series is mainly filmed at the sets at Film City in Mumbai while the initial sequences were shot in Patiala in early December 2020.[6]

The first promo of the series was released on 2 December 2020 featuring the leads Debattama Saha and Karanvir Sharma.[7]

The series had its peak viewership in UK with 76.2 K viewership on 23 January 2021 being the second most watched Indian television series in UK.[8] The viewership further increased to 80.6 K in 26 January 2021, occupying third position.[9]
