Before Eurovision
National final
Artists and songwriters were able to apply for the competition either through a submission form. NTU received 18 applications, and 8 were selected to proceed to the national final. Before the final, Vitaliy Kozlovskiy, one of the selected finalists, withdrew from the competition. No entry was replaced.[1]
The final was held on 9 March 2007 at the NTU TV Studios in Kiev, hosted by Timur Miroshnichenko and Maria Orlova. Seven entries competed and the winner was determined via the 50/50 combination of votes from a public televote and an expert jury.[2] The expert jury consisted of Vladimir Grishko, Svyatoslav Vloh, Oksana Novitskaya, Olyona Mozgovaya and Vitaliy Dokalenko.[1]

At Eurovision
Ukraine automatically qualified to the grand final, because it was on the top 10 last year. Verka performed eighteenth following Serbia and preceding United Kingdom. Ukraine wound up finishing second with 235 points, receiving points from every country but Albania and including a maximum 12 each from Andorra, Czech Republic, Latvia, Poland, and Portugal. With changes to the format of the competition coming into effect for 2008, Ukraine would have to compete in one of two semi-finals for qualification into the final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2008. As Ukraine was not the winner of the 2007 Contest and was not a member of the Big Four, other results in the previous contest no longer pre-qualified nations to the final of the forthcoming contest.
