Artist selection
On 7 January 2007, IBA announced that Teapacks were selected by a special committee as the Israeli representative for the Eurovision Song Contest 2007.[1] Among artists considered by the selection committee, Harel Skaat, Keren Peles, Ninet Tayeb, Maya Bouskilla were highly considered before Teapacks were ultimately selected. Among the members of the committee were Yoav Ginai (Head of Israeli Eurovision delegation), Kobi Oshrat (composer), Yardena Arazi (1976 and 1988 Israeli Eurovision entrant), Dafna Dekel (1992 Israeli Eurovision entrant), Daniel Salomon (singer), Haim Uliel (singer) and Mika Karni (singer).[2][3]
Kdam Eurovision 2007
The song that Teapacks represented Israel with in Helsinki was selected through a national final called Kdam Eurovision 2007. Four songs were selected for the competition and were presented during a radio programme on 22 February 2007 via Reshet Gimmel, Reshet Bet and 88FM.[4]
The final took place on 27 February 2007 in Kibbutz Dorot, hosted by Natali Atiya and Noa Barak and broadcast on Channel 1. All four competing songs were performed by Teapacks, and the winning song "Push the Button" was selected by a combination of the votes from four voting groups: an expert jury of IBA representatives, internet voting, telephone votes from the public and SMS votes from the public.

At Eurovision
Because Israel placed 23rd at the 2006 contest, Teapacks were forced to compete in the Eurovision semi-final. They came 24th with 17 points failing to qualify to the Grand Final. It is the worst place to date for Israel.
