Un Dia (One Day)

"Un Dia (One Day)" is a song by Colombian singer J Balvin, English singer Dua Lipa, Puerto Rican singer Bad Bunny and Puerto Rican producer Tainy. It was released through Universal Records on July 23, 2020.[2] The song appears on Balvin's compilation EP Summer Vacation (2020) and on the reissue of Lipa's second studio album Future Nostalgia: The Moonlight Edition (2021).[3] It is nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance at the upcoming 63rd Annual Grammy Awards.[4]

Background and release

In May 2020, a 9-second clip of a song titled "One Day" by Lipa, Balvin and Bad Bunny leaked online.[5] The clip contained a reggaeton beat and Lipa's vocals.[6] The song was rumored to be released in June of that year.[7] In June, Balvin, Lipa, Bad Bunny and Tainy registered a song titled "Plateado" to American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP).[8] On July 21, 2020, the singers announced that their collaboration would be titled "One Day (Un Dia)". The song premiered on July 23, 2020, at 20:00 ET (00:00 UTC on July 24).[9]

Music and lyrics

"Un Dia (One Day)" is a house, pop and reggaeton song,[10][11][12][13] with dream pop melodies and dancehall flairs.[14] Lyrically, the song has themes of nostalgia and longing emotions.[15][16]

Music video

The music video for "Un Dia (One Day)" is directed by Stillz, produced by Neon16, and stars Úrsula Corberó.[17][18] It was nominated for The Music Video of 2020 at the 2020 People's Choice Awards.[19]
