Lego Ultra Agents

Lego Ultra Agents is a Lego theme, which was first introduced in 2014 after the discontinued Lego Agents theme. The theme was considered to be a development or upgrade from the 2008 of Lego Agents theme. The 15 sets in the theme's release were split into three waves, both being accompanied by a free app. Later, it was discontinued in 2015.

Premise

The theme focused on fictional Ultra Agents on wild adventures in pursuit of diverse, AntiMatter and his evil villains in Astor City.

Development

In 2008, a theme named Lego Agents was released and retired one year later with 13 sets, with the theme focusing on various fictional Lego Agents in a variety of adventures against a multitude of villains.[1] It is loosely considered that the Lego Ultra Agents theme sparked development from and updated the former Lego Agents theme.[2]

Characters

Ultra Agents

  • Agent Curtis Bolt: He is the inventor of the Ultra Agents.
  • Agent Caila Phoenix: She is a martial artist and a demolitions expert.
  • Agent Jack Fury: He is the thrill-seeking often reckless daredevil.
  • Agent Max Burns: He is the Rookie Agent and the professional driver of the Ultra Agents. Later, he is promoted to an Elite Agent.
  • Agent Solomon Blaze: He is the former member of the Galaxy Squad.
  • Agent Trey Swift: Professor Brainstein’s Scooter.
  • Agent Steve Zeal: He is a member of the Ultra Agents.
  • Astor City Guard: The law enforcement of the Astor City.
  • Astor City Scientist: The Scientist of the Astor City Lab.
  • Professor Christina Hydron: The Scientist of the Ultra Agents.
  • Professor Brainstein: He is a member of the Astor City Research team and Agent Curtis Bolt's mentor. Later, he became a villain with a 4-legged mech suit.
  • P.U.P.(Prototype Unmanned Patrol): The robotic dog.

Villians

  • Adam Acid: He is a former harbor master became Toxikita's henchman.
  • AntiMatter: His real name Morgan Lux, is a former Ultra Agent and main antagonist of the Lego Ultra Agents series.
  • Infearno: He is a former firefighter became a villain with a flamethrower and a flaming hover-board.
  • Psyclone: He is a former weathercaster became a villain with a giant silver propellers on his back.
  • Retox: Toxikita's henchman.
  • Terabyte: He is a former IT specialist became a computer hacker and his plan is to hacked the Astor City’s computer systems.
  • Toxikita: She is a former environmentalist became a villainess and her plan is to spill toxic waste into the ocean.[lower-alpha 1]
  • Tremor: His real name Louis Lightweight, is a villain with a heavy armor and a flat fists.
  • Spyclops: He is a former exterminator became a villain with a robotic spider arms and portable venom spray.
  • Invizable: He is a former rock star became the invisible man.[lower-alpha 2]
  • Drillex: He is a former construction safety supervisor became a villain with an armor and the drilling fists.
  • SharX: AntiMatter’s personal bodyguard.
  • Electrolyzer: He is a former electrician became a villain with dual lightning bolts.

Sets

First wave

In 2014, the first wave sets were be released on 27 May 2014 under the Lego Ultra Agents theme. Similar to the Lego Agents theme, the Lego Ultra Agents theme depicted fictional Ultra Agents in wild adventures fighting evil villains accompanied by high-class equipment in the area of Astor City, which also comes with an accessible app.[3] The six sets[4][5][6][7] being released were Riverside Raid (set number: 70160),[8] Tremor Track Infiltration (set number: 70161),[8][9] Infearno Interception (set number: 70162),[8][9] Toxikita's Toxic Meltdown (set number: 70163),[8][9][10] Hurricane Hiest (set number: 70164)[8][9] and Ultra Agents Mission HQ (set number: 70165).[8][11][12][9][13] Each of the sets featured eight core characters, named Agent Max Burns, Agent Jack Fury, Agent Solomon Blaze, Agent Curtis Bolt, Agent Caila Phoenix, Professor Christina Hydron, Astor City Guard and Astor City Scientist. Also included the villains are Adam Acid, Tremor, Infearno, Toxikita, Retox, Psyclone and Hyrdon for each of the sets.

Second wave

The second wave of Lego Ultra Agents was released on 1 March 2015 and had five sets (total of 11 sets) with similar models to the first wave. The second wave also incorporated a sequel to the first compatible app, focused on a villain named Antimatter.[3][14] The eight sets[15][16] being released were Spyclops Inflitration (set number: 70166),[17][18] Invizable Gold Getaway (set number: 70167),[17][18] Drillex Diamond Job (set number: 70168),[17][18] Agent Stealth Patrol (set number: 70169)[17][19] and UltraCopter vs. AntiMatter (set number: 70170).[17][18] Each of the sets featured the additional characters named Agent Trey Swift, Agent Steve Zeal, Professor Brainstein and P.U.P. Also included the additional villains are Spyclops, Invizable, Drillex and AntiMatter for each of the sets.

Third wave

The third and last wave of Lego Ultra Agents was released on 19 May 2015 and had three sets (total of 14 sets) with similar models to the first wave. The three sets being released were Ultrasonic Showdown (set number: 70171),[20] AntiMatter's Portal Hideout (set number: 70172)[20] and Ultra Agents Ocean HQ (set number: 70173).[20] Also included the additional villains are SharX and Electrolyzer for each of the sets. It's also designed primarily for children aged 7 to 14 years old. Later, it was announced that the theme would be discontinued and no longer be available at LEGO Store or online shop.

App

With the release of the first wave also included free application software compatible to the six released sets. The application, available to iOS and Android devices, includes an advancable plot and comic-centered gameplay.[14][37] In wave two, the agents fight in a sequel to the original game against a villain named 'AntiMatter', also free of charge.[3][38]
