N63 road (Ireland)

The N63 road is a national secondary road in Ireland. It links the M17, 10 km (6.2 mi) northeast of Galway, to the N5 national primary road in Longford.

N63 at Killashee

Route

N63 starts at the junction with M17. Prior to September 2017, N63 used to start at N17 road near Claregalway and run though villages of Carnoneen and Turloughmore. The 10km section of N63 from near Claregalway to Annagh Hill was reclassified as R543 road. The 6km section of N63 from Annagh Hill to Abbeyknockmoy is recently upgrade with good alignment as the road is widen with cycling lane added and have good surface. After Abbeyknockmoy the road is single carriageway with no shoulder until Athleague. It pass though numbers of villages Moylough, Mountbellew, Newbridge, Ballygar and Mount Talbot. In County Roscommon, the road has better alignment, as it pass though Roscommon Town and Ballyclare with some sections have a hard shoulders. After passing Lanesborough the road is poorer standard as it terminates at N5 road in Longford.
