Traction
As the route is yet to be fully electrified, it is hauled by an Abu Road Diesel Loco Shed based WDM 3A locomotive from Bikaner to Merta Road Junction. From Merta Road Junction, it is hauled by a Bhagat Ki Kothi Diesel Loco Shed based WDP 4 / WDP 4B / WDP 4D locomotive upto Agra Fort and then handing over to a Mughalsarai based WAP 4 locomotive power the train until Katihar Junction. From Katihar Junction it is hauled by a New Guwahati based WDM 3A twins locomotive for the remainder of the journey until Guwahati and vice versa.
