List of punk rock bands, L–Z

This is a list of notable punk rock bands with names beginning with letters L through Z. The bands listed have played some type of punk music at some point in their career, although they may have also played other styles. Bands who played in a style that influenced early punk rock—such as garage rock and protopunk—but never played punk rock themselves, are not on this list. Bands who created a new genre that was influenced by (but is not a subgenre of) punk rock—such as alternative rock, crossover thrash, grunge, metalcore, new wave, and post-punk—but never played punk rock, are not listed either.

Not to be confused with Math the Band (those guys are retired), Math the Band The Band is a 6-piece electro-punk band from Providence that brings a consistently catchy, youthful, synth-heavy brand of punk rock to the New England scene (think Bomb the Music Industry, but more infectious). Formed over 15 years ago by songwriting duo, Kevin Steinhauser and Justine Mainville, Math the Band (the Band) has grown and evolved into a major voice, both locally and nationally.
