BBC Radio Jersey
BBC Radio Jersey (Jèrriais:BBC Radio Jèrri) is the BBC Local Radio service for Jersey, Channel Islands. It broadcasts from Saint Helier on 88.8 FM, 1026 AM and online.[1]

Like other BBC enterprises in Jersey, funding comes primarily from television licence fees collected in Jersey.[2]
According to RAJAR, the station has a weekly audience of 24,000 listeners and a 17% share as of December 2018.[3]
History
The station first aired on 15 March 1982, when it was opened by George Howard, the then chairman of the BBC. The first voice to be hear was that of Peter Gore who was one of the four-person start up team headed by Mike Warr. It launched from Broadcasting House, just off Rouge Bouillon in St Helier, and moved to its present premises in Parade Road in March 1994.
Roger Bara, a long-standing breakfast show presenter, retired in 2012.[4]
As well as broadcasting on FM and AM, BBC Radio Jersey is also available via internet at BBC Radio Jersey Online.
Location
The radio station shares premises at 18-21 Parade Road in St Helier with BBC Channel Islands television news, and BBC Jersey's online services.
Programming
The majority of the station's programming is produced and broadcast from St Helier. During off-peak hours, BBC Radio Jersey also carries regional programming for the South West and West regions, produced from sister stations BBC Radio Devon , BBC Radio Cornwall (on Saturday evenings between 10pm-1am) and BBC Radio Bristol. On weekday evenings between 6pm-10pm, weekend afternoons between 2pm-6pm and Saturdays between 8pm-10pm, BBC Radio Jersey carries pan-Channel Island regional programmes produced from BBC Radio Guernsey. On Saturdays between 6pm-8pm, BBC Radio Jersey carries the Stereo Underground show from BBC Radio Solent which is broadcast across the South, South East and Channel Islands regions
BBC Radio Jersey also simulcasts BBC Radio 5 Live overnight (as well as BBC Radio London for some of the overnight downtime) It also airs on weekday evenings and Saturday afternoons on medium wave.
