Iran at the Olympics

Iran, officially the Islamic Republic of Iran since 1979, first participated at the Olympic Games in 1900. Iran has sent athletes to compete in every Summer Olympic Games since then, except for 1980 and 1984 due to boycotts. Iran has also participated in the Winter Olympic Games on several occasions since 1956.
