The site used to be a plain where rice and corn were cultivated. It was originally developed as a private subdivision by the Ortigas, Madrigal and Company. The residential development was converted into a barangay through a Presidential Decree. Its name, Plainview, was retained. It is currently the site of various government establishments including the Mandaluyong City Hall.[1]
