Rina Kooi

Rina Kooi also written as Rina Kooy (born ca 1920s) was a Dutch kortebaan speed skater from Wieringen.[1]

In February she became third at the national kortebaan championships behind Ike Nienhuis and Joke Hoekstra. On 24 January 1950 she beat Ike Nienhuis during the competition in Drachten. This was widely in the Dutch news after it was after a long time Nienhuis was beaten.[1][2] In December 1950 she won again in Drachten the competition with almost all of the main speed skaters.[3][4][5] At the end of the month she became in Uithoorn champion of Noord-Holland.[6] In January 1951 she lost the national competition in her home town Wieringen of Tine de Vries and finished second.[7][8]

Kooi also played handball as a member of club Tonegido.[9]
