Saakje de Jong

Saakje de Jong (born 20 January 1929) was a Dutch kortebaan and long track speed skater and athlete from Heerenveen, who was active in the 1940s and 1950s.

Speed skating

She won in February 1956 the first competitions at the new speed skating track of Lemmer, beating in the semi-final the champion of Overijssel Fenny Groen.[2][3] In the same month she also became Frisian long track champion.[4]

She was multiple times beaten by among others Tine de Vries[5][6] and Annie van der Meer.[7]

Athletics

She was member of AV ‘55 (Heerenveen). She became 1956 Frisian pentathlon champion.[8][9]
